Keys Six Sigma was established to help all size companies sort through the issues and concerns about developing and deploying a Lean Six Sigma or Design for Lean Six Sigma program in their respective organizations. Too often, the efforts in many Lean Six Sigma deployments focus almost exclusively on training. My experiences have taught me that training is the "means" to the Lean Six Sigma "ends." By taking the time and working on the management, cultural and other aspects of a Lean Six Sigma deployment, organizations can improve the program's acceptance, pervasiveness and overall sustainability.

As a Senior Staff member of Xerox's Corporate Lean Six Sigma Office, I led the development and deployment of the DMAIC Green Belt and the Design for Lean Six Sigma programs. As of early 2007 almost 4000 Xerox professionals worldwide have been completed their DMAIC training as well as over 1000 Design for Lean Six Sigma product design professionals. Both programs have received high customer satisfaction and delivered positive business results.
Though Lean Six Sigma has been my life for the last five years, my broad background gives me a diverse business perspective. This includes leading a 250 person multinational extended enterprise organization that developed, designed, manufactured and distributed a critical xerographic components and subsystems. I also lead a manufacturing technology organization that developed and implemented key strategic capabilities and businesses. From a strategy development perspective, I managed the Manufacturing Technology investment portfolio and played a role in the business and technology assessment for new marking systems.
My educational background includes a Masters of Science degree in Plastics (1981)from the University of Lowell, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Plastics Engineering (1980) from the University of Lowell and an Associates in Applied Science in Plastics Technology (1976) from the State University of New York at Morrisville. I've been DMAIC Black Belt trained and I've received my Xerox DMAIC Green Belt Certification.
I am equally proud of my volunteer activities that spans over 32 years. I have been a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) since 1974. I have served at the Society's Student Chapter, Section, Division and International levels. At the International level, I served on the SPE Executive Committee for ten years holding several elected Officer and At-Large positions. In April, 1997, I assumed the duties as President of the 37,000 member international Society. I was elected as an Honored Service Member (1996) and a Distinguished Member of the Society (1998) and I am a certified Plastics Technologist (1996, 1998). Other volunteer activities include serving on the Board of Governors of the National Plastics Center and Museum (1998-2000), various industrial advisory groups for the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and Rochester Institute of Technology. I was one of seven finalists for the Rochester Engineer Society Engineer of the Year (2005) and was inducted into the Plastics Pioneers Association (2006). I have published and/or presented over 30 papers on technical and business topics at various international conferences.
