Lessons Learned

In "Lessons Learned from an Unconventional Design for Lean Six Sigma" book, there were a series of lessons learned.  Periodically, I will post some of those excerpted lessons learn here as book content examples.

Working through the several years on Xerox's  Design for Lean Six Sigma program development and deployment, there were several lessons that were learned.  Some of the lessons were good, some were bad and others were just interesting.  Some were anticipated and others were unintended outcomes of the decisions we made.  I would caution people reading this that not all the lessons are transferable to all other companies and environments.  These were outcomes of Xerox’s work environment, excellent engineering competency and what turned out at times to be just dumb luck.  These lessons learned could be considered like feedback; you can accept it, reject it or look into it.  Some of these lessons may be directly transferable to your situation and most, if not all, should be looked into as companies begin to develop and deploy a Design for Lean Six Sigma program.
